Health plan may hobble economy recovery


But because the smallest businesses – those with fewer than 50 employees – were exempted from the mandate and the full force of the law will not go into effect until 2016 for larger businesses, the legislation turned out to be “less onerous than many people feared,” said John Silvia, chief economist at Wells Fargo Securities.

The point of the news story is economists are worried OCare will cripple the recovery…(for what its worth.)   The paragraph above caught my eye.  If I am a business who hires 56 people, how tempted am I to fire 7 and get down below the magic number?  I think the answer is simple when looking at your bottom line.
