No Vote for the Troops

1st Infantry Troop

1st Infantry Troop

The Democrat Party’s hatred of the military knows no bounds.  From Kerry calling us uneducated terrorists, to Durbin comparing us to Nazis, to Al Gore throwing our votes out, the left’s disgust and contempt for the military continues unabashedly.

The latest was the Democrat Party’s successful efforts to bloc a BIPARTISAN resolution thanking the troops for their efforts that resulted in the surge’s success.  There are a number of reasons why the Marxist in the Senate refused to allow the resolution to pass and all of them point to their politics of destruction at the expense of the men and women of the US military.  History will record this correctly, someday.  For now, the reasons are clear:

  • The Democrat Party can never accept Bush being successful at anything, this resolution would’ve put in writing that Bush’s call worked
  • The Democrat Party would have to accept the fact that Iraq is a win IN SPITE of their 5 year effort to ensure a defeat
  • It would put in writing what everyone already knows, that the Democrat Party’s opposition to the surge was wrong and Bush and McCain’s position supporting the surge was correct

The surge will go down in history to be as significant as Truman’s “gut check” call on the Berlin Airlift.  War colleges, not already studying this event, will most assuredly do so, regardless of what Marxist academia’s “take” on this is.  We already know what they think, and we already know they are of the mark, as Iraq continues moving toward a secure, functioning, democracy.

We also know that if Bush had not ordered the surge, Iraq would NOT be a secure, functioning, democracy, that instead if would be embroiled in bloodshed and chaos.  This is what the Democrat Party wanted.  We know this because it is what they wanted in Vietnam and that’s what they got, millions upon millions dead, chaos, and more war.

History will reward George Bush just like it has rewarded Harry Truman.  History will also correctly record the Democrat Party’s hatred of the military, it already does in fact….

    Sad but unsurprising.

I’m sure the only way the Democratic Party would have supported the resolution was if there were an extension of the ban on offshore drilling tied to it.
