The absurd Sudanese teddy bear controversy

Meanwhile, people on the view discuss the issue, blaming the teacher for being insensitive to the culture.  These people are so blind with political correctness they fail to see reality.  They are terrified that they might actually find themselves on the same side of the fence as George Bush.  To avoid this, they will say anything….or ignore anything.

Reality marches on.  Those twisting themselves into intellectual knots to avoid sharing a position with an unpopular president would feel very differently if they found themselves on the wrong end of Sharia law.

Slate has an excellent story by Anne Applebaum.
